26 hours on the air, minus several hours distracted by work chasing me around
all weekend. Missed some of the best hours of Friday evening and all of Saturday
morning to email churn from the office. Best laid plans, I guess -- no weekend
respite.
Overall, performance was very similar to 2016 here. Mults and 3-pointers were
scarce. Worst November CQWW outing by far since 2005.
Highlights: Brunei loud on 20M late in the day Sunday. OH8X calling in (also
loud) while I was working JAs.
Lowlights: 15M -- all of it. Massive disappointment versus last year. 40M to
Europe didn't happen with just a rotary dipole.
The 160M inverted-L did better than in recent years, and the 80M single
full-size vertical over four elevated radials did better, too. After winter has
its way, the spring 2020 plan is to improve 40M options again (lightning and
wind took out the 40M wire quad a year ago).
