Comments:
Not a good contest to be north (are there any?), but this is WW and there was
much fun to be had. Was disappointed to not work or even hear anything in EU on
160 after having a pretty decent season thus far on that band. The band was
great to Asia.
It was good to have decent 40 meter JA during the night instead of just tuning
around listening to W5's run JA's I can't hear on that band like the last few
years.
I think this is the first WW I can remember where there was no runnable EU on 20
meters in the morning either day. Got a little better mid-day, but when there
is no rate to kick in the natural response of the body is to fall asleep.
Station worked well. We had a wind event on Sunday that basically took me out
of the contest. Trees were bending so much that I was afraid they would mangle
the side mounted yagis. (My station is in a forest). There were a ton of
multipliers yet to be worked, but no rate to speak of. I don't think it
mattered much and everything survived.
I wish I could have a stun gun to fire at the people who refuse to send their
call. Their call is, what, 4-characters. At 40 WPM that takes a second and a
half. When they do send it it is covered by the callers. Isn't there a WW rule
about this?
A WW with mediocre conditions is 40 db better than any other contest. Carry
on!
