Comments:
Celebrating over 25 years of contesting fun in Tennessee, we used our Tennessee
Contest Group club call of K4TCG.
This year our traditional "Iron-Man" Multi-2 (2 ops,2 radios,48
hrs)was joined by Jim KE0L and Gary K4VIG. Jim and Gary could only participate
part time but they still gave Mark and I some needed breaks. Last year we made
DXCC on 40m in 12 hours. This year we did it in the first 5 hours (plus a
minute!) We also worked 39 zones on 40m. (Anybody work zone 34?) This is an
indicator of how well the low bands played this year and our more efficient use
of packet. There is no internet at Mark's station so we set up a cell phone as a
hot spot and used a dedicated laptop networked with the two stations to provide
packet spots. Our multiplier count was way up this year but the QSO count was
down from last year. Even so we still managed to beat last year's score.
It is always a lot of fun to play radio for a weekend with your friends, both
locally and from all over the world. Thanks for stopping by and saying hello.
For the K4TCG team,
73, Ted W4NZ
