Comments:
K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care
retirement community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC. N3UM and W3GB operated
Multi-2 HP in CQ WW CW 2019.
Condx were amazing and QRN low. We got 21% more total mults and only 2.4% fewer
Qs than we did in 2018, in 91% as many BIC hrs.
At start W3GB clicked spots on 80m. 00-05Z for 136 Qs, then quit to sleep. On
40m. N3UM ran 00-02Z for 93 Qs, then clicked spots for 151 more 40m. Qs till
0441Z. Then 0448-0612Z he made 35 Qs on 160m, plus 6 mults on 80m. At 0613Z QRT
we had 420 Qs, 197 cty mults, and 54 zone mults.
Sat. 1139-2141Z W3GB made 242 Qs on 20m. and 15 Qs on 40m, plus 99 cty mults and
28 zone mults. N3UM was coping with a stomach bug till 19Z. He did 18 trial Qs
OK on 40m, then chose to rest and return at 23Z hoping 40 would be better. It
was; he made 93 Qs 2300-0143Z. W3GB 2316-0314Z got 79 Qs on 80m and 14 on 20 and
40m. At 0314Z QRT we had 881 QSOs, 322 cty mults, and 88 zone mults.
Sun. 1206-1505Z N3UM ran on 20m. for 269 Qs at 90/hr, and 5 mults including VU2.
He then clicked spots till 1626Z; on 20 for 35 Qs and 8 mults including ZL, then
on 15m. for 6 Qs and 12 mults.
W3GB came in at 1733Z and got 63 Qs and 52 mults on 15m. He then got 35 Qs on
40m and 32 Qs on 80m. by 2359. From 1844-2201Z N3UM got 22 Qs on 20m. and 89 on
40m. Total new mults after 1733Z were 57 ctys and 20 zones. Our last 5 double
mults were D4, AH2, VK, and at 2358Z JA on 80m! What a ride; DXCC on two bands,
and 116% of our best past claimed score.
