Comments:
This was another ad-HOC operation from W7AYT's QTH
before starting up running NX6T on 80-meters remotely.
Band Condx. here in EB section were quite poor.
Several times it sounded as if I had blown-out the
"front end" of the 1000mp, except that switching in
the ICOM 7000 for a listen made no real improvement.
Bottom-line is starting up at 00:00z cost most of the
20 meter opening. Amazingly, 40 was already open to
W2 (that never happens at this time from here).
It turns out, the wimpy CHA-250 vertical was more
low-angle and less noisey than the WQ6X Lazy 8JK Inverted Vee.
Oh well, back to the wiring board.
LooK for WQ6X in the upcoming SSB and RTTY GiGs.
