Comments:
K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care
retirement community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC. N3UM and
W3GB did Multi-2 in Jan. 2020 NAQP CW.
>From 18-22Z N3UM ran for bulk Qs, mostly on 20m, while W3GB
clicked spots for mults and CQ-only-ers, mostly on 40m. This got
us hourly combined rates of 80 to 92/hr. At 22Z we had 337 total
Qs, 6 cty mults, and 66 St/Pv mults, a bit more than in 2019 at 22Z.
Skip on 20m. was loud but long; we got CA, OR, WA, AK, and HI but
NO W8s or W9s! Sigs were good on 40m. from NY to CO at first, later
good to CA.
With offset supper breaks we got just 32 Qs 22-00Z.
At 00Z W3GB got on 80m. for 6 hr. till QRT, while N3UM got on 40m.
for 3 hr. and then 160m. for 3 hr. Combined rates were 80/hr 00-01Z,
90 to 99/hr 01-04Z, then not-bad 78 and 84/hr 04-06Z. W3GB got all
our 80m. Qs 00-06Z; N3UM got all our 160m. Qs 03-06Z.
Our final claimed score was 3.5% below that of 2019; 7% fewer Qs but
3.5% more mults. We got DC and 49 states, all but ND. The last hours
on 80 and 160m. were key to this; with long skip on 20 and 40m, we got
DE and ME on 160 only, RI on 80 only, & VT and WV on 80 and 160m. only.
