Comments:
I haven't done a lot of 160 operating for lack of a 160 antenna. I was running a
K3 into an Ameritron ALS-600s at 500 watts. I have recently put up a 160 L of
sorts and wanted to check it out. I worked a bit on both evenings, all search
and punce. I got on late (11pm EST) and worked for about 3 hours.. I put a
hundred contacts in that night. I got up and on the radio about 7pm EDT and
worked another 20. The rest I got after 10 Saturday night. Most of the DX was
Saturday night. Antenna observatio? It worked better than it should, [with a
max height of about 60' at the (slow curvaceous) bend with about a 70 deg slope
up to the bend and a 20 deg bend down to about 7 ft] at the end. I need to be
louder to Europe, so I will be looking for improvements.
