Comments:

A few hours' fun chasing French stations from the Far Side with 500 watts to a
fullwave wire loop.

Some heard and worked me no problem. Some struggled a bit, as you might expect.
Some were clearly thrilled and very grateful for the points & ZL mult. A
few had real problems with my prefix, locking-on to the wrong letters and
stubbornly refusing to correct my call, despite me patiently re-sending it over
and over (bit of a clue that!). Some didn't appear to hear me at all, and a few
were so busy CQing that they didn't even give me time to send my short contest
call. At least one station was sending his department after a slash, as an
integral part of his callsign ... but inconsistently, so I'm not sure what he
expected us to log. Other more sensible entrants sent their department after a
space, or only in their exchanges: no problem there. All in all, condx were
good with no radar for a change and few YB SSB pirates to contend with. A
bientot! Gary
