Comments:
I operated field day style at a rural rental property near Melbourne – so I
could get away from the man made city QRN and have some space to pull up an
antenna between some trees.
Unfortunately, conditions were very poor from this part of the world, and not
helped by strong lightning QRN from storms in north VK. I operated for around 18
hours but only managed to make 23 QSOs. I could hear many DX stations, but they
could not hear me. It was clearly not a good year for running low power! I
expected to work more North American stations but ended up with mainly European
stations in the log. No ZL stations were heard.
Anyhow, I enjoyed the challenge and had some fun playing with radio – which
was the main objective! Thanks to everyone for the QSOs and persevering with
digging my weak signal out from the QRM and QRN!
Radio – FLEX-6400 100W
Antenna – Top loaded T with 20m vertical section and 4 x elevated radials
