Comments:

This was an operation that was not supposed to happen. I was going to operate
from a multi and Charlotte was going to operate part-time from home. The multi
operation was canceled due to station problems so Charlotte and I decided to do
a low power multi-single from home.

I'm getting over a bad cold and the doctor has given me some nice medicine so
maybe this would be for the best.

My plan was to sleep late Friday morning but at 6:30 I was hearing something
going "beep" every few seconds. I pulled myself out of bed and went
looking for it. The batteries in the weather station in the shack apparently
were reaching end of life and the unit decided to announce this by beeping as
loudly as possible. I removed the batteries and it went blessedly silent.

I wasn't able to fall asleep again and was tired all day. I took a short nap in
the afternoon. It helped a bit but it didn't leave much time for station
set-up.

At the start of the contest I was running DXLog in full debug mode because that
was how I had left things. That is OK for most contests but not for the ARRL DX
- the keyer lagged and it could take several seconds to log a QSO. I was also
connected to a DX cluster node that did not support skimmer.

After an hour or so I stopped operating and built and installed a developer test
version of DXLog which was much better. I never did reconfigure the cluster
connection.

Conditions were good and we had some fine runs on 20, 40, and 80. It would be
nice to have a 160 meter antenna - all QSOs on that band were made running 30
watts into the 80 meter antenna.

See you all in the SSB contest - we'll be part of the HQ9X multi-2.
