Comments:
Thought I might give the fone weekend a go this year. Since my attempt at an
inband so2r failed miserably on code, didn't even try. Gave up quite a few
mults in order to maintain a run frequency.
Only worked 2 Eu the first night, along with several SA and CA stations. West
coast came in late and not strong. Second night was a bit better but an OK stn
parked 1khz below me certainly didn't help. Managed a total of 20 eu, 27 total
10 pointers and 74 5 pointers, 8 non-VE.
Highlights were having a loud ZL2OK call in Saturday and working eight (8!) NE
stations. Missed VO1/2, SK, BC (called one w/out success) and WY. Great
activity, especially in the maybe 1000mi zone that seemed to "work".
Thanks to all the stations that hung in there for multiple repeats while I
dialed in the Rx antenna.
Looking forward to the Spring Stew Perry in 3 weeks.
