Comments:
I have been coching and mentoring others, primarily on an area repeater
that engages in a weekdays chat called COVID-19 Ragchew which sees as many
as 24 engaging. Not about the virus, just maintaining contact. Several got
interested in trying out a Sprint. All 5 made contact with President Laird
VE3LKS but did not contact each other, nor me. My only qso was with VE3LKS who
had a good signal. I did hear others who did not hear me. None had a beam, but
that will be changing.
Mission accomplished! More interest now in simplex operating. 432 should be
fun too. Thanks to sponsor Central States VHF Society and to all who
participated and gave out points.
Equipment: 817 into horizontal 4 elmt beam 18 inches above vehicle roof.
