Comments:
What an interesting weekend! Last year, we had planned to travel to UT for the
7QP, then COVID-19 got in the way for this year. Instead, we stayed home and I
spent a lot of time in the shack feeding RF to my two dipoles. Obviously, a lot
of others did the same thing. While activity was not huge, there was enough to
get some good runs going which is always challenging when operating out of the
QP area.
CW was the money mode with 79% of my contacts. Being adjacent to AZ and
relatively close to the rest of the 7th Area, 40m was the money band with just
over half of my contacts. 80m was "productive" despite using a low
dipole (the same for all bands).
I neglected to check “Show non-workable spots” which also includes “and
dupes in the band map—duh! What a dumb move that meant I called some of you
(again) when I shouldn’t have. Most just worked me and probably wonder
“What is wrong this guy?” Sorry. That’s one mistake I won’t make
again.
Thanks for all the contacts! I hope to return to a location in the 7th call
area next year for a county expedition. Let’s hope we have a COVID-19 virus
in use by then. And maybe HF propagation will be a little better too and my
noise level will decrease. And I give a big thanks to Bruce, WA7BNM for this
web site and the parsing tool for this past weekend’s contest! 73, Bill,
