Comments:

Normally, the WVARA/K6EI team does field day from Mora Hill in Los Altos Hills.
This year, thanks to our favorite pandemic, that wasn't possible because we were
not granted a permit -- and let's face it, it probably wouldn't have been the
greatest idea even if we had.

WVARA, a long-time industry leader in field day social distancing via our
revolutionary all-QRP technology set out to have almost as much fun with the
ARRL waiver of the normal rules not allowing contacts between D and E classes.
And, of course, since we didn't need QRP to be socially distant with a fully
remote operation, a few of us WVARAians elected to use the NW6P superstation
remotely with full QRO.

It's definitely not the same thing as Mora Hill -- and can't wait for those days
to return, but it was still fun. Definitely some higher rates this time and lots
of D/E contacts in the log. With 3 operators, we managed approximately double
the Q count than what we normally do with many more operators and a lot less
power up on the hill. While we were curious what the difference between QRP and
QRO was, I think the conclusion is that it's definitely a lot harder to rack up
points without a QRP multiplier.

Missed a bit of the 15m opening on Sunday -- I hear some people in W6 were even
working EU -- nice! We also had an epic 10m opening, with a raging 4 QSO per
hour rate! I'm not sure how N6GD handled those pileups.

We operated CW mostly with a few phone excursions here and there. No digital
(ironically, coming from the guy that normally does this at the WVARA field
day.) We watched contestonlinescore.com carefully and made sure we mostly led
the pack in the M/M HP category (whatever that translates to.)

Thanks for all Q's everyone -- I'll see you in IARU and probably NAQP in a few
weeks!

73 de W9KKN along with N6GD and WD6T @ NW6P
