Comments:
A little surprise for most was that I used "LEON" as my name. It is
actually my middle name.
Few people know that when I first got on the air as a novice in 1958, I started
out using Leon as my CW name. It was shorter than "Richard" and seemed
to be a smart thing to do at the time. This continued for 3 or 4 years before I
became active on phone using Richard. It then became awkward when switching
between modes and I eventually became just Richard (or Rich) on both modes.
For some reason I was nostalgic this weekend and decided to do a retro switch to
Leon. Sorry if I messed anyone up.
Story of the contest:
10M dead. 15M & 20M OK. Low bands very noisy.
Called CQ a little on 15M and 20M. Tuned for friends on the low bands. Watched
some TV. Went to bed.
73, Richard - K5NA
