Comments:
I put in more time this year than last year. Last year I put in 24 hours. This
year my official time was 34:42. However, I took some breaks shorter than 1 hour
to eat lunches and stretch my legs. Conditions seemed better this year. The big
surprise was a major opening on 15 m around 9:30 Sunday morning for maybe half
an hour. I normally struggle hearing stations on 15 m and so can never run.
During the opening I was hearing just great and running with no problems. It was
short lived though. It gives me hope for better days as we move into solar cycle
25.
Last year, I managed to get 723 QSOs, so this year I set a goal to reach 1000
QSOs, which I though was pretty aggressive for me and my station. By the end of
the Friday night session, I was well ahead of last year's pace, so I was
optimistic. By Sunday morning (13:43 GMT) I reached my goal, so I had to set
another goal. Looking at my score, I decided to set a goal to reach 1 million
points. That seemed difficult at the time since things had slowed down a lot.
Luckily, things picked up later and I was able to achieve that goal. Hopefully
once all the errors are accounted for it will still be over a million points.
N1MM showed that I had more QTCs than QSOs. I think that was because I had 2
dupe QSOs that it discounted but I guess it counted the dupes in the QTCs.
This is a fun contest with the QTCs. I look forward to raising the bar again
next year.
