Comments:
One of these rare days that wet snow is affecting
the SWR of the antennas (especially on VHF). On 14
MHz the linear was not working as a microwave oven.
I did not see any change, but fortunately with the
tuner I could force the SWR to a perfect 1:1 match!
My guess is, that due to the snow the resonance is
lower by some 300 kHz and the parasitic element is
still working as a director on the 2-el yagi.
Solar activity has died down from the last few active
weeks, now in the upper A-level X-rays, but with the
Winter anomaly we have this borderline MUF to the USA
just before sunset. It seems there was some activity
on 7 MHz, but I did only a 6 minute run before the end.
Cheers/73, and Merry X-mas to all! Zaba OH1ZAA #1856
