Comments:

Nice to have a few periods of Es on 6m. Good meteors on 6m Sunday morning.

We've been lucky with mostly trouble free VHF operations the past few years.
That luck came to an end this weekend.

Three hours in, The 6m Harris amplifier output power decreased and then
completely stopped working. I think it was flashing an overtemperature trouble
code. We replaced it with Andy's PowerGenius XL amp from the HF shack, which
worked great to the end of the contest.

On 2m, the reflected power was higher than normal. Receive didn't sound quite
right, but was still limited by local noise levels in suburban FN20. I had to
keep resetting the Larcan KW amp SWR trip circuit (W6PQL control board). Early
Sunday morning, Andy came down to check on me and Peter. I was in the middle of
racking out the Larcan to adjust the trip setpoint. Andy went outside and swept
the antenna from a junction to the ~200' hardline run. SWR was nearly 2:1.
Looks like an issue at the power divider. With that information, I decided to
stop adjusting the SWR trip setpoint and let it do its job. Andy cleaned up the
hardline junction prior to restoring. When we put the Larcan back into service,
the reflected power was back to normal and behaved the rest of the contest. We
don't think the hardline junction was the issue, but we'll take this lucky
break. Need to check at the power divider before June.

Thanks for the QSOs and, as always, thanks to the rovers.

73,

John N2NC, for the N2NT VHF team
