Comments:
Had significant icing a few days before the contest. The Northeast Beverage was
not functional making it tougher for listening to EU on 80/40m. The 20m OWA
Yagi de-iced enough to be functional and with the help of a tuner the 40m and
80m wires were usable for both Tx & Rx. Inbetween other chores and domestic
duties left a bit of time for contesting to have fun and earn a few points.
Conditions seemed not bad given a K Index of 4 and the return of a sunspot the
day before the contest. Was pleased to work a VK station at about 3 PM local
time on 40m while working many stations in EU during that timeframe. Nice
openings to Japan, Alaska & South Korea were fun.
Thanks to Eric, N3EB, for the use of the remote station (and for trying to get
the NE Beverage functional in time for the contest on Friday).
