Comments:
I was delighted to insert my 40m single band score between two old friends,
ZM1A (op ZL3CW) and VK2IA with whom I had a good time in EU a few decades ago.
In addition to our very similar scores,
I share other things with these two gentlemen:
We are, all three, expatriates from Europe:
- Jacky, ZL3CW is F2CW.
- Bernd, VK2IA is DL1VJ.
- I am PY2ZEA and OH2MM.
We left the cold climate of Europe and moved to the warm South;
Jacky and Bernd to the Oceanian side,
and me to the Atlantic side of North America.
To get to NA on 40m is a challenge here in the deep South because:
- We have to cross the noisy equatorial zone
- W/VE beam mostly to EU, when OC is 180º and PY is 90º off.
Here in 3830, KI1G - the top NA in SO Unlimited class with 4082 QSOs
listed his QSOs by countries: 86 % of his QSOs were EU !!
The remaining 14 % was shared between the rest of the World...
PSE have a second antenna, maybe just a dipole or GP,
to listen the "Suffering Southerns".
My stn was K3 with Acom 2000 A, with a 3-el Steppir Monstir at 36m
73 Ville PY2ZEA OH2MM
