Comments:
Another disappointing RTTY contest for me. I was having difficulties in making
any QSO's when the contest started. After a long while I checked my settings
and found I was again operating in reverse somehow. Apparently I must of missed
a menu setting when the rig came back from repair. I recall that I did call CQ
and verified my signal on the RBN after the rig was repaired though. I was able
to make a few contacts but then had to leave. When I came back to I had high
swr. Apparently the control line to my MFJ 1708 TR switch worked itself loose
when I was checking my connections However, even after that was fixed I still
seemed to have a hard time making any contacts by SWR and power was good but I
don't think I am getting out. I never did like my antenna and I think it will
be time to change it this summer, or when the snow melts which ever comes first.
I had a lot of fun the first time I worked this contest and was hoping to have
fun again but I just got more frustrated as the day wore on.
