Comments:

Mobile operation in 9 counties in OK (includes 500 pts x 9 for counties
activated). Original route shortened to one day to avoid nasty weather out in
panhandle area - and TX panhandle had at least 11 tornadoes on the ground
Saturday afternoon and evening not far from OK border - and OK panhandle. Might
have even been some in OK out in the really rural areas there that just weren't
spotted. Avoided storms and home before t-storms hit Sat night in much of OK
into the morning hours in SW corner.

Second purpose of trip was to activate 2 new parks (for me) in OK. Plus two
repeat ones - so I took time to get to those parks and sit there to make some
contacts. On way home, stopped in Carter at Lake Murray State Park and then in
Love County at the Love Wildlife Management Area for contacts from those
counties.

At one point, K5PS/m and I were in same county. He running continuously as had
driver (assisted mobile). Passed by him on I-35 later as he pinned meter at 60
over S9 - he headed north, with me headed south.

Rules say you have 50 state multipliers - thus including OK. So I counted OK as
a multiplier along with the other OK counties worked. A few DX in the log
including OM, HA, JA, I, but missing many more as condx to EU not great on
Saturday - no surprise with current sunspot level. Canada scare getting only
VE3, 5, and 7.

Worked a few OK counties - but most were, if I heard them, S1 or S2 and they
didn't hear me from the mobile. Typical. Plus most had pileups on them. Same
for few mobiles I heard weakly - no chance of getting through giant pileups of
loud sigs other than close by or far panhandle.

Big pileups early in day but slowing down later in afternoon. Stopped to run
every county or county line. No driver and getting too old to try and do it on
the run these days. Don't use computer so no problems with that, rf into
computer, interface glitches, etc. Just Schurr mobile paddle connected to radio.

Rig: Old reliable IC-706 original, Hamsticks for 20/40m on 4 magnet mount on
roof, paper log. Entered to computer using Flat Log Entry (FLE) which works but
not greatest and doesn't do dupes or figure score out. Car - 2016 Chevy Malibu
LTD with 130,000 miles on it now. 430 miles driven for the one day of QSO
Party.
