Comments:
Congrats to Bill, AC0W and Dave, KA6BIM for excellent scores. Things got off to
a decent start, but the contest was almost over for me when 29 meters closed at
2330Z Saturday. I was able to run a few stations on 20 phone around 22Z. Signals
on 20 were only loud from about 2130-2300Z and part of that time was my dinner
break. I spent nearly 10 minutes off and on calling a guy with ground mounted
vertical and could never break through his noise level despite him peaking S7
here. And there was one 40M SSB op who was good copy, but had a lot of callers.
Sunday was really disappointing; the band did not open well until 17Z = 1100
MDT, pretty late! Despite a lot of S&P and checking spots, I only added
W7ZRC on 20 phone during the day Sunday, one QSO.
Activity is much better than in the "old days". The only mobile I'm
aware of, NI7DX, was only heard twice for 1 new mult. Thanks for the QSO's.
73, Jeff
