Comments:
This is my favorite contest - everyone works everyone...you watch the scoreboard
go up with every new prefix...fun! I ran about 90% of the time and averaged just
over 100 QSOs per hour.
I had a couple of objectives - 1 million points and log the most QSOs in a
single contest (previously 1677 QSOs) - both objectives met. It was difficult to
score more points without 15 and 10 open to EU and JA. In addition, everyone was
jammed into 20 meters during the day and 40 meters at night. I did manage a
couple of decent runs on 20 meters in spite of the tight conditions.
As I was trying to get to break my QSO record on 40 meters, the usual jerks
showed up and deliberately jammed me with slow scan signals and lots of power -
I fought it off and the guy finally moved on to someone just down the band -
JERK!!!
I had the pleasure of working fellow MWAers K0MD, N0HJZ, KB0MPV, W0PR, WA0MHJ,
and AC0W. I heard people calling K0KX, but never heard him loud enough to work
him.
I had a lot of dupes calling as well as people who wanted to rag chew -
definitely slowed down the rate. The two DX highlights were JW2T called me while
I was running on 20 meters and ZS2ABE called me while I was running on 40
meters.
