Comments:
Alaskans complain when it is cold, complain when it is warm, complain when it
rains, complain when it snows, complain when it is too dry... It is our
nature... we're whiners.
The same is to be said about solar activity - we complain when there is none,
and we complain when there is solar activity... like a solar flare and solar
radiation event.
All in all, however, we had a lot of fun, and we actually did better than we
thought we would. We pushed back our Alaska M/2 record, which was nice. the
first hours of the contest were a bust (see that dastardly solar flare, etc.
above), but things picked up... we got some nice runs on 15, made a few Qs on
10, heard NR6O on 160, but didn't want to leave rate on 40 and 20 for one Q...
Sometimes contest heroes are made before the contest starts... and Kent, KL5T
chased down several breaks in the feedline of one of the beverages... in the
rain. I think he can take a break from moisturizing for a bit.
Thanks to everyone that called us... and to those that answered our calls.
Next contest, IARU... we will be M/M... but with a twist... Stay tuned!
