Operated from Santa Fe, NM a couple blocks from the downtown square in a rental
home AirBNB we were staying in. The plan was to get away from the Texas heat.
It turns out that we had a few days that were warmer than Austin. Decided I
would take my KX3 and KPA100 amp and see if I could fit an antenna in the back
yard of the house we were staying in. Took along a very light weight OCF that
was supposed to cover 40-10. Did ok on 40-15 but would not tune on 10 when using
the amp. So ran the KX3 at 12 watts on 10. Due to the lot size I had to
install it as an inverted V using a Spider pole with the center at about 20
feet. Turned out to be a challenge overall, but really enjoyed the contest.
