K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care
retirement community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC. In Aug.
2021 NAQP CW I (N3UM) operated SOLP Assisted.
My total of 502 Qs was the same as I got in Aug. 2019 doing M/2
with W3GB; 76 more Qs on 40 M this year, but 83 fewer on 20 M.
But, 502 is way less than the 650 Qs I got with W3GB M/2 in 2020,
when 40 and 20 M were both good.
I got a good 20 M run rate to start, 93 Qs at 71/hr 1800-1919Z.
I ran for 36 more Qs 1920-2014Z, but rate fell to 40/hr! I QSYd
to 15 M and clicked spots for 10 Qs and 9 mults in 17 min, 2019-
2036Z. In hindsight, by going to 15 M earlier, say 30 min, I
would have had more mults and maybe more Qs than I got on 20 M in
that 30 min.
I clicked spots on 20 and then 40 M 2036-2119Z for 22 more Qs with
always-CQing ops, then went QRT to eat and do chores.
Back at 2336Z I did well on 40 M; a run of 78 Qs at 80/hr by 0035Z,
24 more Qs clicking spots by 0108Z, then a better run of 114 Qs at
84/hr 0112-0234Z, and by 03Z a last 12 40 M Qs in 12 min. clicking
spots. For Qs and mults, 40 M was by far our best band.
>From 0302-0447Z QRT I got 110 Qs on 80 M, 86 of them in 3 short fast
runs in 64 min, 80/hr. On all bands I got 6 VE provinces plus DC and
43 states, all but RI, VT, ND, NV, ID, HI, and AK.
