Wow! What great fun!

Today, I decided to work on 20 meters only...and to crank my power down to 20
watts so I'd match power and band choice. I tried running a little bit at
first, but when it deteriorated to just 1 QSO every 4-5 mins, I decided to sneak
and pounce. Aha! Another fun strategy: I would hunt for the weakest stations
I could hear and try to work them. Man, that was fun!

I'm amazed that so many outstanding CWOps members could hear my signal and, even
in the face of less than desirable propagation between us, I would get an answer
to my pleading call.

So, this is what it's like to work great operators from a little pistol station
that will never make its way to the top of the scoreboard, but I love to make
Qs, regardless.

Now, back to some really satisfying woodworking. I'm making some 'woven' lazy
susan projects to amaze a few families here in NE MS. The process I use is to
result in a pattern on top that appears to have been 'woven' with various
species of exotic woods. Isn't it fun playing when there's no competition
except with oneself?

Happy Wednesday to all of you from the neighborhood where Elvis was born and
spent his early years before taking off to Memphis.
