Comments:

A good outcome, but a slow start. Activity seemed less than last year the first
couple of hours and again Sunday except for 15M. I was not at my best the first
few hours either. It is getting increasingly difficult to put in the time
necessary to make a competitive score because the XYL needs a lot of
assistance.
The level of operator ability from CA is the best of any QP, very few ops not
very proficient on CW and not that many on SSB. There were a number of very
unnecessary threepeats of number or county on SSB; Most all stations were good
copy unless very weak on phone. Most of the time QRM was no problem. I had 479
Q's in the log at 0326Z when I quit for the night knowing there was more out
there to work, but feeling tired. Without 15 opening well, Sunday would have
been very slow. There was not much left to work/run on 20 all day.

Conditions were definitely better than 2020 with much longer openings on 20
(well into the evening) and 15M. Nada on 10 here. 15 was only wide open to all
of CA for about 75 minutes Saturday and from 1810-2000Z Sunday. It was a very
slow progression from first CA heard on 15 around 16Z.

I have to commend the CQP committee for getting a good turnout from almost all
of the counties. Ironically, the rarest one, N9BD/6 in Yuba called me at 1606Z
Saturday, many thanks! The last 4 all called me during 20M SSB runs: W6T in
Trinity, WA6ZDO in Del Norte, and KK6ILV in Stanislaus, and W6JGR in San
Francisco at 2344Z (3 more SFRA called in next 20 minutes). Trinity and Lassen
were probably the next rarest.

Thanks for all of the calls and those who dug me out of their possibly high
noise levels. My QRN was mercifully low and static on the low bands was
minimal.
By next year 10 should be wide open, please check the high bands!

73, Jeff
