My focus for both weekends was to operate from two specific locations, EN61av
and EN51xr but I did vary that a little bit.
Saturday of the August weekend was successful from the EN61av spot with 12 QSOs
but rain shortened my stay at the EN51xr spot after only 3 QSOs. That gave me
time to decide to meet up with W9SZ for Sunday of the August weekend down in
Central Illinois, starting at EM59ji (2Qs), then EM58ax (3 Qs), followed by
EM49ua (2 Qs) and, finally, EM48rx (a little to the northwest of St. Louis) for
1 QSO. It was a long ride back to the home QTH on Sunday evening.
Saturday of the September weekend was disappointing with only two QSOs, one of
which was a dupe from the August Saturday. Sunday of the September weekend was a
bit more productive with 3 Qs from EN61av but 16 Qs from EN51xr.
Thanks to the stations (15 unique calls) who called or texted me on the cell
phone or who answered my call or text to their cell phone to link up for these
QSOs.
