Comments:

This was my first experience operating M/S in SS. Enjoyed being able to split
the overall time up between the two of us such that we had some serious radio
time, but also had time with family and got some reasonable rest.

Conditions seemed so-so overall. The bread-and-butter bands, 40m and 20m, held
up reasonably well, but wondered perhaps if there were less operators
participating then in other years? Overall, we had lower run rates and wound up
spending more time resorting to S&P than expected.

Heard a few S/A stations on 10m, but only managed to work 2 stateside Q's (both
booming in from EMA). Nice to at least hear something going on on the
band--even if it didn't really open for us this weekend.

It seemed like the provinces and sections were well-represented this year and we
managed a clean sweep. The last one to bag, as is often the case, was the
eastern half of our own state -- EWA: just across the Cascade Mountains. We
were a bit worried as we didn't get EWA during the first night on 80 or 40
meters. Fortunately, Mitch found EWA on Sunday afternoon on 20m -- and then
about a half hour later on 40m.

We enjoyed the M/S live competition at contestonlinescore.com, and tried to stay
in range of KY7M (Arizona Outlaws Contest Club) while remaining ahead of VE7UF
(Orca DX Club). In the end, we weren't able to catch the former and managed to
hold off the latter.

Thanks to the many stations who took the time to work us in the contest -- both
those who were serious competitors and those who were casual dabblers.

- Tony, N7DX (with Mitch, K7RL)
