Comments:
Just before CWT there was nice DX visible on 28 MHz
FT8. Solar X-ray output dropped from A6 at 1300Z to
A4-level at 1400Z, i.e. almost Solar Minimum again!
The Winter Anomaly helps for MUF in the Northern
Hemisphere mostly during daylight. There is now a
clearly written 2018 paper on the Winter Anomaly:
swsc-journal.org/articles/swsc/pdf/2018/01/swsc180019.pdf
Lunch was late so I missed the first 24 minutes.
Checked 21 MHz, but nil for CWT. Only 14 MHz done
as there were plenty of stations, and hand driven
tuners are slow to change bands (with 7 MHz in mind).
Nice to work Mika OH6NVC probably for the first time.
An interesting observation was that USA top scorers
are recently back up in signal strength, but during
Summer conditions on 14 MHZ they were often bypassed
by other USA locals (maybe not with total scoring,
but in signal strength).
Cheers/73, Zaba OH1ZAA #1856 CWops
