Normally I run high power and use a vertical antenna, but I used today's SST to
help test my new K4KIO hexbeam. I just finished assembly, and it is still
sitting at ground level (3 feet) and was pointing west. I put 90 watts into the
100 feet of coax, for sure less into the antenna, and I still made contacts all
over the US. I hope to put it up on a mast and rotator soon.
