Comments:

Had not planned for this one - it just snuck up me. After 15 years of
stability, N4GG has changed a lot lately. Gear (amps) sold off, many antennas
down. So 100 watts for a change, to a poorly setup Marconi Tee for TX. I sure
miss that +12 dB from the ACOMs. Very hard to work the West Coast given the
setup. The first night was better than the second. We had a front move through
here in ATL Saturday night and that raised the QRN and noise floor in generral.
As every year, the broad front lobe of the K9AY came in handy for nulling the
Christmas light noise coming from up and down the street. The good news was the
K9AY loop, which had mediocre performance for the last 15 years of its 20 total,
sprang back to life. It was as good or better then when first put up. The
reason was all the antennas detuning it have been removed. It's out in the
clear. I was an inverse alligator. Its intereting when running LP, you find
out who can hear well and who can't barely hear at all. FTdx5000, Marconi Tee,
WRITELOG.
