Friday night I got on for an hour and worked the few stations I could hear.
Saturday was always going to be a part time effort as I wanted to see my oldest
grandson's hockey game, plus I was very concerned about the high winds possibly
damaging my antennas. So, I packed things in at 1835Z on Saturday, positioned
the beam to present the least resistance to the wind and watched TV. Went to the
hockey game only to find it had been cancelled due to high winds - really???
Sunday morning, the first order of business was to check for antenna damage. No
issues with the beam but I did have to retension the guys on the 80 m vertical.
Watching that antenna sway during high winds will get you a bit agitated!!
Just kinda played around on Sunday but did put in a reasonable effort. Nice to
be called by ZL while CQing on CW. Also great to work FR4KR on both CW and SSB.
Sunday PM he was LOUD on SSB!
As usual, it's a jungle out there ...
