Comments:
Utter disappointment Saturday morning when I noticed new RFI on 160 meters to my
East, and spent the morning tracking it down to a very bad pole 1.1 miles from
my QTH (and in the way of Europe). Thought my Stew was going to be a bust due
to the RFI, but still managed to work lots of stations and have fun. Lightning
over SE US also made for a lot of repeat requests due to "static"
crashes (thanks for the repeats).
Transceiver: Kenwood TS-180s (100 watts) with 500 Hz IF filter
TX Antenna: 68 foot base loaded vertical wire hanging straight down from a very
tall Sycamore tree with 55 short buried radials (2500 feet of radials)
RX Antennas: 3 small point fed pennants (pointing 40, 160, and 300 degrees).
Audio Filter: Hi-Per-Mite active audio filter (200 Hz bandwidth).
73,
Don (wd8dsb)
