Comments:
K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care
retirement community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC. N3UM and
W5MPB did Multi-1 HP Assisted in the 2022 ARRL RTTY RU. We hoped
to beat the 80.5 K score claimed by N3UM and W3GB doing M-1 in
the 2020 ARRL RTTY RU. We were <1% short; 80 K claimed. One more
mult or 5 more Qs would have made it 80.6 K. SFI of 105 gave us
1.2X the mults to offset 0.84X the Qs in 2022 vs 2020.
We took shifts of ~3 hrs BIC. At start 20 M was hot. N3UM ran for
153 Qs 1820-2112Z and 37 St/Pv mults, loud from AL and IL out to CA
and WA, plus backscatter to nearby states. W5MPB then ran for 68 of
92 Qs on 40 M 2143-2300Z and 26 Cty mults, our first, plus RI, WV,
and 9 other St/Pv mults.
N3UM got 37 Qs on 40 M 0036-0202Z, then ran for 10 of 15 Qs on 80 M
by 0220Z. At 0224Z W5MPB jumped in and kept the run going for 75
more 80 M Qs, then 17 clicking spots till 0442Z QRT when 80-M rate
died due to Kp=5. We had 392 Qs, 52 St/ Pv mults, and 31 Cty mults.
On 20 M from 1243Z N3UM ran for 58 of 113 Qs & 19 EU and NA Cty
mults plus ND. W5MPB 1620-1910Z got 41 20-M Qs + EA6, KP2, and KL7.
N3UM got 102 20-M Qs 1922-2206Z, 80 of them in 3 runs spaced by
clicks on spots of 3 of 8 mults, including XE, VK, WY, and at
2206Z, YT! On 40 M W5MPB got our last mult at 2215Z, J3, then 47
more 40-M Qs by 2357Z.
We missed only DE and VT St mults, & got 11 VE Pvs. Cty mults were
61% EUs & 16% NAs.
