Comments:
After a 5 year warm-up and at least 500 sessions,
I signed up for CWops LIFE-membership last week.
I had to repair a solder joint in the MFJ-986,
and was running the tuner with the top cover off,
which allowed some of the local SPS's to sweep a
noise band over part of the 14 MHz CWT-window at
times. That made me prefer S/P. X-rays peaked
B3.4 level and slid down to B2.2 at the end.
Geomagnetic activity was very low and signals
quite strong with useful scatter for the short
range... At 1245Z 21 MHz sounded busy, but I
still had to make my own run on 14 MHz. But it
turned out 14040.6 was not a popular frequency,
so I went for 21 MHz. Now it was very deserted,
but I got Fil CR6K during the last minute, muito
obrigado! It was great to work Wino PA0ABM, and
Fred PJ2/NA2U was the Caribbean catch of the day!
Cheers/73, Zaba OH1ZAA #1856 CWops
