On March 5, 1962 I received my Novice radio license. Little did I know I would
spend my 60th anniversary in the ARRL DX contest.
I had to quit after the first 22 hours. About 1.5 years ago I began to have an
issue with my eyesight. I have developed blind spots in both eyes, as well as
difficulty in distinguishing printed letter. When I focus on something for a
time(like the call entry window) I begin not to see the print, but instead the
background. I was making many mistakes and probably lost about 20-25 Qs of good
contacts. My apologies to those who will get dinged for "not ion
log".
By Sunday afternoon I decided to pick up where I left off (around the same
time)and set my goal for 5000 Qs. Made the 5000 mark at just slightly past the
24 hour mark.
In April I haver more tests etc. with more neuro optical specialists who
hopefully can help me out.
