Comments:

This is one of my favorite contests and was 100% S&P. I was able to get
pretty good rates at times, especially on 15 meters. I ended up with a total of
72 countries in 26 zones - an indication of improving propagation I think
considering the power level.

80 and 40 presented the normal struggles when running QRP: just difficult to be
heard at times. It was great to see the nice openings on 10 and 15 - shades of
the "old days!" And there were some pleasant surprises with some
rarer DX! There was a lot of QSB and I had to repeat my exchange often. - Kind
of goes with running QRP.

I thought the pile-up behavior was pretty poor at times. Stations just kept
calling over contacts or in response to partial calls that bore no resemblance
to their own call. There were several situations in which the DX had to
emphasize "only the ND0 station". It appears that some just don't
care: "anything goes".

On several occasions DX stations came back to me with my complete call, but
asking for confirmation that it was correct - and other stations jumped on top
of me to hijack the contact. In a couple cases I heard exactly who it was due
to backscatter: well-known big gun stations. And of course the situation is
exacerbated when the DX lets them get by with it. Frustrating.

But all-in-all, this was fun. As always, thanks to the stations that had good
ears and the patience to pull my signals out of the QRM and QSB.

73,
Randy, ND0C
