                    Microwave Spring Sprint - 2022

Call: NV4B/R
Operator(s): NV4B
Station: NV4B/R

Class: Rover LP
QTH: AL
Operating Time (hrs): 6

Summary:
Total: QSOs = 9 Max Dist(km) = 328 Total Score = 1,080

Club: Alabama Contest Group

Comments:

I operated from Woodall Mountain MS (EM54vs) and Colbert Heights Mountain AL
(EM64dq) on 1296 only with a barefoot ICOM IC-9700 (10W) and a 25-element
Directive Systems loop Yagi. Conditions were poor -- the only contact I made
from Woodall was AB4DX, 50 km away. Others seemed to be struggling with their
attempts also.

Things got better from Colbert Heights. From there, I had a clear shot to
Huntsville where several stations were on. WD9EXD had a good signal from
southern Illinois -- we were even able to work on CW after the Sprint was over
-- and I got lucky and worked AG4V via troposcatter.

WD9EXD was my best DX in EM57rp at 328 km.
Average DX was 120 km.
Mode breakdown: 7 FT8, 1 SSB, 1 CW.
