Thanks for the QSOs!
Most exciting moments was when Sean/KX9X got my report (echo mary 71) on 6m SSB.
I guess it was a new grid for him and he was very excited and wanted to know if
I was on LOTW and could confirm--and our QSO is awaiting his upload/confirmation
now! I don't want to be a "boo hoo" op, but you just can get this
type or level of excitement from FT8 QSO or any other digital mode!--I miss that
part and also when I was able to say hello to Alec/W4ICU on 6m SSB Will it stop
me from playing FT8--NO! But is was fun to hear Sean's excitement and have a
nice greeting with Alec!! It instancely reminded me of some my past great
moments that I have had in this great hobby.
I had the following QSOs
FT8 = 28
SSB = 9
CW = 73
Using a FT-2000D, 3L LFA strangely I was setup for FT8 on an experimental
installation on my truck with the antenna about 14'--I might use this setup in
the future for a 6m Rare Grids or something! Before dark on Saturday, I
disassembled the vehicle setup and put the same antenna on a 4x4 temporary setup
at 12' for all the other CW/SSB QSOs, except 1 on FT8 at the very end.
I had a good time and again appreciate all that worked with me on the CW/SSB and
FT8 QSOs. 73 (RTR)
