Started off nicely. At the halfway point, with 20 minutes S&P and 10 min
CQing, I had about a 62 rate (good for me). Of course, I started off before the
contest by finding ops calling CQ to reserve their freq, and put them into the
bandmap. This gives me a leg up on initial S&P rates. But rate on the last
half hour faltered. The majority of the ops seemed to be on 40m. 20m had a few
operators, but wasn't nearly as busy as 40. And when I checked out 80, I looked
at the scope and saw pretty much nothing. My best CWT scores require two busy
bands. I typically sweep through one in about a half hour and then sweep the
other. In this case I had to go back to 40m and deal with plenty of dupes.
OTOH, I can remember when I would have been thrilled to have 51 Qs in a CWT.
