Jim K6ZH is one of our CW irregular regulars@KL7RA. He has a Summer place at
Goldfield, NV, a really interesting old mining town. Just by coincidence, their
town festival "Goldfield Days" coincides with NAQP CW, so I had a
chance to combine two of my favorite things, small town festivals, and small
time contests :)
Festival was great! Contest was so-so. Conditions were generally pretty good,
but low power is low power and Summer means noise on the low bands. Still, did
a lot better than I do from Alaska.
Thanks to Jim and Joan N6KIM for hosting. If you ever get a chance to check out
Goldfield, definitely do it!
