Comments:
I operated indoors from the shack for the start, squeezing as many QSOs out of
20m as possible - that band wasn't especially cooperative. Moved to the back
porch at 2100z where I had set up a portable vertical (~18 ft tall) for 40m -
then the fun began. 40 was reasonably productive until past sunset, minus time
to grill a steak and have dinner with the XYL. I moved to 80m at 0252 which
worked out about as expected with a shortened, ground mounted vertical on a
noisy summer's eve - yet that band yielded the best rates. I pulled the plug
and stowed all of the gear when the clock rolled over 0400z.
I recall working NA8V, W1NN, W8CAR and K8RYU twice, K8MR only once (unusual,
perhaps my moving 4 miles further from Jim has affected the ground waves between
us). KW8N, N8FYL, also once each.
256 different calls were worked. These 7 calls were worked 3 times: AI0Y, K0AD,
K1IMI, K1LZ, N5EE, NA0N, W2RQ.
The best 10 minute rate was 102/hour beginning at 2022-08-07 0252.
The best 30 minute rate was 68/hour beginning at 2022-08-07 0242.
The best 60 minute rate was 57/hour beginning at 2022-08-07 0252.
All in all, good fun, and thanks to the MRRC/NCC Whip, W1NN!
