Comments:
These VHF Sprint contests are short and enjoyable. I hope they continue. I got
off to a rocky start when WSJT-X would not transmit for no apparent reason, but
a WIN10 reboot fixed that. With just a nominal 25 watts (actually 22 watts
according to my Bird wattmeter)and a 10 element Yagi on a push-up pole, I knew
that most or all of my QSOs would be on FT8. I did manage one CW contact with
K9MRI at 322 miles. Best DX was N0URW at 409 miles on FT8. Big antennas on the
other end of the path really make a difference. I copied W5EME at 469 miles but
Rick could not hear me. All in all it was an enjoyable evening. See you in the
432 MHz Sprint next week.
