Comments:
First time doing ARRL 160m contest.  Station: Inverted Vee with apex at 70ft;
Ft1000MP-V + ACOM 2100; Beverage #1 500ft to NW and #2 450ft to NE.
The inverted vee went up Friday morning before the contest started. The
Beverage antennas heard many more stations than I could work - an inverted vee
was the wrong antenna for this contest, but it went up fast. Improvements to
160m antenna coming.
Propagation was interesting. I could her the d-layer fade away from east to
west each afternoon/evening. The NE Beverage would start hearing station 1-3
hours before I could working them with the inverted vee. I think the inverted
vee was being affected by the d-layer overhead while the Beverage was getting
underneath. Slow deep QSB prevalent on many distant signals. Northeast seemed
to be a dead zone from here with my suite of antennas. The secondly was slow to
have decent propagation here.
As always, good fun.
