Comments:

It's a thing.
Whenever I am away from home during the 160M contest, I try to make a contact
with K3ZM, my brother Peter. This year I was in the Bahamas volunteering at the
Hero World Challenge PGA golf tournament. I took my K3, some wire, and a SOTA
fiberglass pole. I anchored the pole to my 10th-floor balcony and had about 50
feet of wire running along the pole and then dangling down. The tuner in my K3
handled it fine, and Peter heard me calling him a few hours into the contest.
Success!
Then I went looking for my friends at W2GD in SNJ. They are multi-op, so I can
work them without affecting Peter's chances of winning (seriously, I take that
into account!) The GD op couldn't copy me until later at night, but with a lot
of effort they got me in their log.
Next up, try to work brother Jeff at K1ZM. Unfortunately, my signal was just
too darn weak to make it. It wasn't for lack of trying, but it just didn't work
out.
I hear that Peter made a good score. Well done!
