Comments:
Ten Meters is ALMOST VHF, right? OK, so there's no 'roving' but I can still
operate FROM the CoROVERolla as long as it was parked in the driveway.
Relatively mild temperatures for mid-December in Chicago-land didn't hurt
either.
I only got on for 3.5 hours on Sunday afternoon, all Search & Pounce and all
SSB using QRP power (dialed the power down on my FT-991) and the antenna was a
"CB" (102 inch) whip in a magnetic mount on the roof of the car.
35 Qs with 9 U.S. States (mostly CA and AZ but Hawaii was one of the states,
"TU" to KH6TU), 4 QSOs with 3 Canadian Provinces, 1 Q with 1 Mexican
State and 14 Qs with 8 DXCC entities (one of those being Namibia!).
All in all, I'm pleased with the results for the time I was able to spend and
staying SSB only and QRP with a non-directional antenna.
Was it my imagination or did I REALLY make contacts with both V_3_1MA and
V_5_1MA in this contest? Hopefully the log checking (or LotW) will confirm that
I really DID work both stations.
Thanks to all who copied my QRP signal and to all who were active in the
contest.
73, JK
