Comments:
K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care
retirement community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC. N3UM and
W5MPB did Multi-Op HP in the 2022 ARRL 10 M test. N3UM got all
our CW Qs. W5MPB got all our SSB Qs.
Our goal was to beat the best Multi-Op ARRL 10 M claim in 5 years
at K3CCR, 509 Qs and a 183 K score in 2020. It was fun to do that
with 1.5X as many Q pts in 1.1X the BIC hrs, 1.9X the total mults,
and 2.9X the score. SFI of 140 vs 82 in 2020 helped a LOT.
At start we took ~30-50 min. turns on each mode, as worked well
before. A CW run 00-0029Z got 40 Qs at 83/hr and 17 states; OH out
to KS and TX, likely E skip. SSB spot clicks 0030-0110Z got 17 Qs
& 12 states, KY out to MN. CW 0113-0206Z got 66 Qs, 52 in a run
and 8 states, DE and WV out to NE and SD. SSB at 0213Z got 12 Qs and
4 states, GA to CA, then band died. At 0315Z QRT we had 135 Qs,
42 states, and no DX mults.
In daylight CW spot clicks 1325-1440Z got 65 EU Qs and 29 DX mults
+ CO. SSB clicks 1449-1543Z got 34 Qs and 15 DX mults, 12 EU + 3 NA.
After 16Z, Qs came from SA and W6/W7. By 1651Z CW got 14 Qs, 10 DX mults
+ NF & SK, then SSB got 21 Qs, 8 DX, & 6 St/Pv mults out to AZ & SK.
From 17-24Z we took ~1 to 2 hr. turns and got 54 SSB Qs, 79 CW Qs, 17
DX mults & 41 St/Pv mults. At 00Z we had 402 Qs and 166 total mults.
On again 1317-1445Z we got 110 CW Qs, 107 running EUs at 84/hr.
After that, rates slowed and mults were few; we took long turns.
We got 81 SSB Qs in 3 hrs, then 110 CW Qs in 3.4 hrs, plus 20 St/Pv
mults & 32 DX mults in both modes by 2145Z. In breaks we got 11 Qs
and a few mults in the “other” mode. In 43 min till 2232Z QRT we
scraped up 7 last SSB Qs. Got 48 US states on CW, all but SC and RI.
